A Few Baking Tips

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.
― Audrey Hepburn

Anyone that calls themselves a ‘baker’ has a few tricks up their sleeve that make their creations unique. These  tricks vary from actions like throwing salt over your shoulder for luck or baking with the music blasting, turning your kitchen into a dance studio. These are all things that make baking fun, enjoyable and put that hint of love into every creation. Here are a few tips and tricks I use while baking.

Never be afraid to add a little extra chocolate.

Always 1 1/2 the vanilla… or even double it.

The step above goes with spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg as well.

Turn up that music– A happy baker makes for some delicious desserts.

Scoop flour into the measuring cup with a spoon.

Take your time and enjoy whatever it is you are making.

How do the smells around you change throughout the process?- Let your senses run wild!

For best results, let butter soften on the counter.

For cookies, check them about 1 minutes sooner than the recommended minimum time.

For cakes, check them 5 minutes sooner.

Mix baking soda into double the amount of hot water just before adding it to the wet mixture.

Don’t be afraid to cut back on the sugar a bit- Sometimes recipes are too sweet to enjoy as much as you would like.

Use a higher quality bar of chocolate that has been chopped into chunks- Guarantee your cookies will be even better!

And the most important one:

Share with your friends- they will really appreciate it 🙂

I hope these help making your creations that much better!
